Steve

I have been passionate about boxing and martial arts for as long as I can remember. I would get lessons from my dad who did a bit of Karate back in the Bruce Lee days. My brothers and I would use orange peel quarters as mouth shields and would just go for it. I took this passion with me into the fitness industry and have run many personal training businesses which have all had boxing and martial arts flavours.

  • Diploma of Exercise Science

  • 2nd Dan Black Belt Tae Kwon Do

  • Bronze Medal – Commonwealth

  • Gold Medal – Oceania Champs

  • Silver Medal – Australian Open

  • Fought as an amateur boxer

  • 20 years in the fitness industry

  • Former Co-Owner of Results Room

  • Created Les Mills Wellington Fight Club and Impact Classes

Simon

Fitness, boxing and mucking around with mates have always been a huge part of my life. I’ve always thought that combining these would make a great training environment. Especially if there were amazing, talented and ruggedly good-looking instructors. We’ve now created that wondrous place (minus the good looking part). I love teaching people boxing at every level, from the basics for fitness to the intricacies of fighting. It is so rewarding seeing our members enjoy growing and developing their boxing skills.

  • Fought/fight as an amateur in heavy and super heavyweight boxing divisions

  • Trained amateur, corporate and professional fighters

  • Trained professional sports teams

  • Boxing for over 10 years

  • Level 4 Personal Training Certification

RICKY - INSTRUCTOR & PT

I started my career in fitness over 10 years ago. At that time, I had a strong track and field and powerlifting background but quickly realised the buzz my clients got from boxing was unsurpassed. I love seeing the boost in energy that people get from gloving up and hitting pads. Whether you've had a hard day at work or you’re feeling low on energy, boxing always delivers. Forget the runners’ high, the boxing high is way better and you get to hit things, too!

THEO - INSTRUCTOR & PT

I’m passionate about the fitness industry and thrive on helping people to make health and fitness a priority in their lives. Specialising in combat sports, I have taught boxing and kickboxing for over three years now. I’ve been involved with charity fight nights and loved being in the corner for multiple corporate boxing matches. High intensity interval training is one of my favourite ways to exercise but I also know the importance of a good stretch. I love working in a team and class based environment and I look forward to training with you!

  • Level 4 Personal Training Certification

  • Competed in amateur and novice kickboxing

  • Competed in corporate boxing

  • Trained beginners to fight for charity

  • Professional napper 


MAL - INSTRUCTOR & PERSONAL TRAINER

I’ve been in the fitness industry since I was 17 years old and still love the atmosphere that the gym brings. I thrive off teaching technique, helping members enjoy their workout and giving people a purpose for their training. Body Shot is my happy place and I aim to spread the good vibes and motivation to every single member and personal training client that I encounter.

  • Multiple NZ Taekwondo gold medalist

  • Competed at World and Commonwealth Games

KADEN - INSTRUCTOR

I’m a nerdy combat sports addict. I’ve been around the fighting sports for longer than I’d like to admit, having started my journey with the gateway drugs of pro-wrestling, the Ultimate Fighter 1, and forced karate lessons as a kid. Since then, I’ve tried a little bit of everything with the last 4 years dedicated purely to the cathartic, friendship-building art of (dodging) punch face! My biggest passion is working with members to nail their style and flow, whether that’s by refining the basics or working through breaking down concepts and ideas to make sense to real people.


JOSH - INSTRUCTOR

What started off as a New Year's resolution in 2021 to find some exercise I actually liked doing turned into a passion for the sweet science of boxing. After settling into Bodyshot, there was no turning back. As an instructor, I love teaching you the stuff I wish I knew when I started so you can take your own boxing journey. If you have ever wanted to give boxing a go, come and try a class. Your only regret will be not doing it earlier!

BEN - INSTRUCTOR

I joined the gym a few years ago originally to learn how to box and I couldn’t stop coming along, there’s just so much to learn. Boxing to me is the ultimate sport. It teaches you the power of discipline, respect, good morals and humility. I love the purity of it. The fitness, the skill, the endurance and the physical and mental challenge.
